Celebrating its tenth year, through bad times and worse, Sydney Theatre Company's Wharf Revue once again bravely goes to the pointy end of the comic schtick. Arts Theatre Monday 8 March, 11.30am Renowned worldwide for their musical excellence and impressive military appearance, The Australian Army Band Brisbane return to the Gold Coast Arts Centre with a brand new show. Back by popular demand after performing to a sold-out Gold Coast audience in 2008 and 2009, MAJ Peter Thomas will once again lead this incredibly talented ensemble. The Australian Army Band Brisbane has become known throughout Queensland as one of the finest Military Bands in Australia, having performed music from Bach to Bernstein and everything from the roaring twenties to current `Top 40' music. The band features a Woodwind Quintet; Clarinet Choir; Brass Quintet; Brass Choir; Fanfare Team; Percussion Ensemble; Vocal Ensemble featuring excellent male and female vocalists from the ranks of the band; an Irish Group; Traditional Dixieland Jazz Band as well as a Rock Band! Featuring the rich voices of Leonard Lee and Leslie Martin performing classic tunes from your favourite Broadway shows such as Fiddlers on the Roof, My Fair Lady, Guys and Dolls, just to name a few. This is a Gold Coast Combined Chamber of Commerce Fundraising Initiative for RCQ Careflight Rescue. Brian's latest concerts come on the back of his 2008 album, Interpretations, and will no doubt follow the now established local tradition with Australian audiences embracing Brian's previous shows over two highly successful tours. Live on stage, Brian Kennedy is the ultimate performer: from the second he bursts onto stage, grabs his guitar and belts out his first note with total commitment, you feel the energy, and your gut reaction tells you this is going to be one whirlwind, rollercoaster of a night. SEARCH FOR THE CITY OF LOST TOYS. Join Dora, Boots the monkey, Diego and their friends as they embark on an exciting journey through the number pyramid, the mixed-up jungle and more. Along the way the audience will use their map-reading, counting, musical and language skills to successfully get Dora and friends to the City of Lost Toys.
